April 2023

Humanz released six years ago today. Where were you?

Damon’s band blur has announced a show in Colombia on November 21st following their summer European tour which ends on August 11th and their pair of shows in Japan on the 19th and 20th of August.

This leaves only a small amount of time for the fall 2023 American Gorillaz tour rumored to be in the works by Damon and others. (edited)

I'm a bit late to announce this, but Gorillaz have one the Best Virtual Performance category at the Webby Awards, beating big names such as Post Malone and The Notorious B.I.G.

Once again gonna bend the rules here since there would be no Gorillaz without them…Deltron 3030 playing a show in Colorado in September!

I’m fudging the rules a bit here but it is definitely worth posting- Tame Impala and Thundercat have collabed on a new track!

Cracker Island has been named Dig!’s #1 album cover of the year https://www.thisisdig.com/feature/best-album-covers-of-2023/

A third surprise performance (encore) at Coachella will be streamed in 2h 45 minutes @role (edited)

According to Damon, Little Simz, Moonchild Sanelly, Mos Def, Hyptonic Brass Ensemble and (maybe) Bad Bunny will make an appearance at Coachella week 2

See you in a few hours 😁 (edited)

2D says fuck for the first time ever (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

Classic setlist tonight. A great show. Not much to report on setlist wise. We’ll see you next week for Weekend 2! https://pitchfork.com/news/gorillaz-perform-at-coachella-2023/

Aside from the previously mentioned return of Jamie Principle, they played Strobelite with Peven Everett for the first time since October 3rd 2022 making this the second time it has been performed The Now Now tour concluded.

This is also the first time Gorillaz have performed without playing El Mañana and Last Living Souls since their brief TikTok stream at Notting Hill Carnival in August 2021. Excluding that, the KROQ acoustic set, the “Boiler Room” TNN premiere, and the Kong streams in El Mañana’s case, this is the first time these songs have been missing from a Gorillaz live set listed on setlist.fm since the Humanz promotional concerts. Both of these songs even managed to get played during the infamous 2018 Park Live Festival performance before it was rained out. (edited)

Gorillaz take the stage at Coachella at 10:55PM EST tonight. Join us in the thread in #gorillaz-discussion for all the fun! We'll share the link to the YouTube stream and ping everyone when it is available.

I suppose this is worth posting because other Gorillaz servers are as well - Since Gorillaz are performing at Coachella, one of their tracks (Silent Running) was added to Fortnite's in-game radio

This is cool! Not sure if it was already known or not, but sharing it either way since this is a newer interview. Thanks @Pink
