Faust

Haunting is the word that best describes this track. Several synthed keyboards play a minor melody. Way into the track there are some Miho Hatori vocals, then Damon joins in to complement her (with the same vocal lines, but in English), before she finally fades out to leave him singing alone. A definite fan favourite and quite different from the majority of other Gorillaz work. Recalls the Blur track ‘Yuko & Hiro’ from ‘The Great Escape’ in many ways: despondent atmosphere, Japanese female vocalist saying Damon’s lines in Japanese, etc.
