Mike is a major supporting player in Gorillaz. He was in the live bands of all 3 Phases, mostly playing keyboards (the only other permanent live member being Cass Browne on drums). He also played keys in the live performances of Damon’s The Good, The Bad & The Queen, and has played with Blur frequently since 1995, including at every Think Tank (2003) tour and Reunion tour (2009) show. He was also in the Monkey live band for those performances, as well as in the Dr.Dee live band. He’s often been described as ‘band leader’, or similar, and has moved from being a member of Damon’s live bands to being the musical director for whole tours, in particular being the musical director for Gorillaz’ Escape To Plastic Beach Tour 2010. He also arranged the sheet music books for Demon Days, Think Tank and TGTBATQ.
